In memoriam
Rev. Dr. Cathy Woods Bristow, MBA
The passing of our dear dharma friend, Rev. Dr. Cathy, has left CMC’s board of directors, along with our entire sangha, heavy-hearted.
One teaching, a traditional funeral chant which is still sung in many Buddhist communities worldwide says:
“All conditioned things are impermanent,
Their nature is to arise and pass away.
To live in harmony with this truth brings the highest happiness”
This teaching is deeply rooted in Buddhist teachings on impermanence and serves as a profound reminder of the transient nature of life. Its recitation during funeral services helps to provide comfort, foster acceptance, and encourage a deeper understanding of the Buddha’s path to liberation.
May this chant offer ease during these times of grief and of celebrating Cathy’s life and legacy.
